Pros – Free products each month for evaluation. Nice amenities in the Corporate office. Low traffic southeastern Idaho community. Company events such as picnic and Christmas party.
As a member of the IT department for a number of years I have seen lots of changes. Some good some not so good. Although nothing as severe as what has happened in the last 12 months. At least 30% of the entire department has been laid-off, quit, or fired. Sadly there will be many more to follow. A new CIO was on-boarded a year ago and that is when the trouble began. The CIO has no idea what he is doing and is a dishonest individual. Crafting tall tells and taking others ideas as his own. He is he** bent on saving the company money. And that is what he is doing. Running the IT department right into the ground. Its easy to save money when you have eliminated the need to pay anyone as they all have left. This CIO thinks he knows the IT industry well based on his current experience of working for the LDS church. Nothing could be further from the truth. New workspace in the new corporate headquarters for IT is inhumane. The entire department feels that they are treated like low class citizens being forced to work on a 6 foot slab with no privacy or opportunity to have a quiet thought.
Advice to Management
The ship is sinking. Plug the leaks. A good first thought would be to restructure the department and look for better CIO talent. Create an exciting environment again and celebrate your accomplishments. Promote the hard working dedicated individuals and reap the benefits of doing so. Increased 401k contributions…. The CEO stated once that “There is nothing wrong with being wealthy. As long as you take those that helped you get there with you.” Melaleuca says they care about you and your retirement. However their retirement contributions indicate otherwise. Some minor changes in direction and staffing and I think Melaleuca can once again be a great company and sustain immense growth on a global scale!

I reluctantly signed up as a preferred customer of Melalueka but wanted to do my mother a favor. After subscribing, ordering overpriced bath and kitchen cleaning products, I decided to cancel my subscription back in August. I followed the instructions on the website but the still debited my account and sent another box of unwanted cleaning products to me in September. I called them, complained, sent an email and confirmed my wish to cancel only to debit my account again in October and November. After November’s debit, I called again, sent them proof that I wished to cancel and was assured by the customer service representative my account would not be debited again. It is now December and again, my account was debited another $66.28. This company clearly capitalizes on being able to get away with this practice of shipping their unwanted products while the debit a consumer’s account against their wishes. I am counting on someone to help me hold this company and their corrupt business practices accountable. As I read the numerous other complaints, I can’t help but to assume they will continue to get away with this. Please help!! We beg of you!!
